The Timmins Academic Family Health Team is seeking a dynamic individual to join our collaborative primary care team of Family Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Integrated Health Professionals. Nurse Practitioner – Reference # 202002
Full-time-Maternity Leave Contract -June 2020 to October 2021
Full-time-Maternity Leave Contract-October 2020 to December 2020
Position Requirements:
- Current certificate of competence as a Registered Nurse with Extended Class privileges with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, and successful completion of the Ontario Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate Program.
- 2 years of experience as a primary healthcare nurse practitioner is preferred.
- Proven leadership abilities with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to assist patients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respecting their confidentiality and privacy and communicating in a courteous and respectful manner.
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing in English required and in French an asset.
- Politically and culturally sensitive.
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
- Evidence of liability insurance.
- Knowledge & experience with client electronic medical records an asset.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications.
- Current Driver’s License
